What's a gruffalo"。 That line was my favourite part of the book as it was repeated throughout the book。 。。。more

One of my daughter's favourites。 The book illustration is amazing and a good bedtime storybook for 2- 3-4-5-year-olds。 We still pick it up now and read it as she knows it by heart :) One of my daughter's favourites。 The book illustration is amazing and a good bedtime storybook for 2- 3-4-5-year-olds。 We still pick it up now and read it as she knows it by heart :) 。。。more

Un bel album plein de ruse - ça fait des discussions intéressantes avec les flos pour voir s’ils comprennent les raisons d’agir de chacun des animaux。

Creative little mouse avoids trouble by using his, well, creativity。

This is one of the best children's books ever。 With a possible exception of The Gruffalo's Child, which is even better。 Those two books belong to the very small group of children's books I actually bought。 Most of them get outgrown rapidly and are best borrowed, but not these two。 Everyone needs a Gruffalo in their life。 This is one of the best children's books ever。 With a possible exception of The Gruffalo's Child, which is even better。 Those two books belong to the very small group of children's books I actually bought。 Most of them get outgrown rapidly and are best borrowed, but not these two。 Everyone needs a Gruffalo in their life。 。。。more

Size matters。 Even though a mouse is the clever little hero of the book, look who got top billing! This book is so much fun!

This delightful "modern classic" is an absolute treat to read aloud! A short rhyming story, The Gruffalo features a smart-and-savvy mouse who talks his way out of danger with a fox, an owl, a snake。。。 and then an actual Gruffalo! I loved reading this book。 It shows that even if you are small and alone, you can use your wits and stand up to would-be bullies。 It's clever, and the illustrations are fun and bright too。 I like the rhyming, and I felt that the text/language flowed beautifully。This was one of the first books I read after writing my first children's picture book, when I started researching agents and the clients they represent。 I still remember the tale。 It was good enough to remain embedded firmly in my sometim I loved reading this book。 It shows that even if you are small and alone, you can use your wits and stand up to would-be bullies。 It's clever, and the illustrations are fun and bright too。 I like the rhyming, and I felt that the text/language flowed beautifully。This was one of the first books I read after writing my first children's picture book, when I started researching agents and the clients they represent。 I still remember the tale。 It was good enough to remain embedded firmly in my sometimes foggy brain。 。。。more

Thanks to my nephews I have listened quite a few times, so I know the story of the Gruffalo a little too well and this is my first time listening to the audio book。 Imelda Staunton has a warm, whimsical voice as the narrator and her character voices are delightful。 In the story, a mouse is taking a walk through the woods and runs into various animals who could eat her。 She makes a monster called the Gruffalo describing it in scary descriptive details, but maybe the Gruffalo isn't so made up afte Thanks to my nephews I have listened quite a few times, so I know the story of the Gruffalo a little too well and this is my first time listening to the audio book。 Imelda Staunton has a warm, whimsical voice as the narrator and her character voices are delightful。 In the story, a mouse is taking a walk through the woods and runs into various animals who could eat her。 She makes a monster called the Gruffalo describing it in scary descriptive details, but maybe the Gruffalo isn't so made up after all。This is tale is a cute little story about a mouse who gets a little too creative to protect herself。 It introduces creativity and creates a new fantastical creature。 Gruffalo is one of those creatures that is not as scary as his appearance implies。 。。。more

The story is about a little mouse with many predators。 He makes up a story about a creature called the Gruffalo in order to scare off his enemies。 Then to his surprise, he meets the real gruffalo。 The Gruffalo teaches children to be patient and understanding。 Just because someone may appear “scary” doesn’t mean they’re a bad person, and innocent-seeming things can be the worse。 Judge only on actions not how one appears。

The Gruffalo is a hit - there was at least one laugh :-)

My kids favourite book (4 years old), we all know it by heart in my household。 The last book we read every night。

I’ll probably just keep re-reading this one for quite some time…definitely one of my favorites for 100 reasons, which I’m not going to list。 I’m simply just going to keep reading and privately savoring all the yummy parts of the story: the images, the rhyme, the rhythm, the characters, the humor…etc。

I love the concept and the style in which it is written。 The most beautiful aspect is that if you think creatively than you can come out from any situation。。。 Beautiful story for kids

Beautiful illustrations, easy language , and a smart character (mouse) make this book a real pleasure to read。 My 4 year old loves when I read it out loud adding different voices for the characters。

I was skeptical because I'm not a fan of fantasy books but I really liked it。 The rhyming is very good, clean, unforced and the repetition also works well for kids。 Not sure if it's teaching kids to lie or be tricky, but it's clever and an easy read。 Pictures are great too。 I was skeptical because I'm not a fan of fantasy books but I really liked it。 The rhyming is very good, clean, unforced and the repetition also works well for kids。 Not sure if it's teaching kids to lie or be tricky, but it's clever and an easy read。 Pictures are great too。 。。。more
